Register as an Internal User


Concept

In this topic, you will learn how to register in G5 as an internal user.


Steps:

  1. Navigate to G5.gov and you will be prompted to register in G5.

     

    Click the Register button to begin the registration process.

  2. Click in the Employee Type field to select the employee type.

  3. Select the appropriate employee type from the dropdown list.

     

    In this example, select ED Employee.

  4. Complete the remaining required fields: First Name, Last Name, and Email Address.

     

    These fields have been completed for you in this example.

  5. Click the Continue button.

  6. After reviewing the password requirements, click the Agree radio button to accept the terms.

  7. Click the Submit button to submit your information.

  8. You will receive a confirmation that the action was successful.

     

    Next, you receive an email titled "[G5.gov] Account Request".

  9. Open the email then click the Activate My Account button.

  10. After reviewing the account activation statement, click the Agree radio button to accept the terms.

  11. Click the Submit button to continue.

  12. After reviewing the security memo, click the Continue button to continue.

  13. Enter the your phone number in the Work Number field.

     

    In this example, enter "2025555555".

  14. Next, you will create a password.  Please ensure that your password meets the requirements listed at the top of the page.

     

    A password has been created for you in this example.

  15. Click the vertical scrollbar to scroll down the page.

  16. Next, you will select and answer three security questions.

     

    Click in the Security Question1 field.

  17. Select the desired question from the dropdown list.

     

    In this example, select "What street did you first live on?"

  18. Enter the answer for the selected question in the Security Answer1 field.

     

    In this example, enter "Main".

  19. Complete the remaining questions and answers.

     

    These questions have been completed for you in this example.

  20. Click the Continue button.

  21. Click the Activate button to activate your account.

  22. You will receive a message confirming your account has been activated.

     

    Next, you will need to contact the G5 Administrators to have your requested G5 roles assigned to your account.
