Register as a Non- Fellowship Project Director


Concept

In this topic, you will learn how to register in the G5 system as a non-fellowship project director.


Steps:

  1. Click the Sign Up » link to register as a project director.

    Step 1
  2. The User Registration screen displays.

     

    Click the button to the right of the ED Employee/ED Contractor field to display the employee/contractor options.

  3. Select the No list item.

  4. Enter the information into the First Name field.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "Tim".

  5. Enter the information into the Last Name field.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "Applicant".

  6. Enter the information into the Telephone No. field.  Note that you do not need to enter dashes or spaces, only the 10-digit phone number.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "9415555656".

  7. Enter the information into the Email Address field.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "tim.applicant@gmail.com".

  8. For this example, the email address has been copied into the Confirm Email Address field.

  9. Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and complete the registration information.

  10. Enter the information into the Address 1 field.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "2000 Veterans Boulevard".

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "Punta Gorda".

  12. Click the button to the right of the State field to display the list of state codes.

  14. Enter the information into the Zip/Postal Code field.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "33983".

  15. Click the button to the right of the Country field to display the list of countries.

  16. Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down through the list of countries.

  18. Click the Continue > button to continue to the user registration agreement.

  19. Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and read the user agreement.

  20. Select the Agree option to agree to the user agreement.

     

    Note:  If you do not agree, then you may not complete the registration process.

  21. Click the Submit button to submit your registration.

  22. The system displays a message indicating that the system will send a notification to your email address.

  23. The system sends a message with a link to activate your account.

  24. Clicking the link takes you to the Account Activation screen.

     

    Click the Agree option to agree to the activation terms.

  25. Click the Submit button to submit your activation.

  26. Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and review the rules for the user ID and password.

  27. Click the Continue > button to complete the password, security question and security answer.

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "Passw0rd_1".

  31. Click the button to the right of the Security Question field to display the list of security questions.

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "Mr. Kotter".

  35. Click the Activate button to activate your account and save your password and security information.

  36. The system displays a message indicating that the account has been activated and that you will need to log into G5 to select your role for access.

    You will receive an email with the G5 link.

  37. When you receive the G5 link in your email, you may click it to navigate to the log in screen.

  38. Enter the email address you used to register in G5 into the Email ID field.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "tim.applicant@gmail.com".

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "Passw0rd_1".

  40. NoteYou must accept the Department's terms in order to successfully log into G5.

     

    Click the Yes, I Accept the Terms option.

  42. The Edit Profile screen displays with the information you entered when you set up your account.

     

    Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and verify the information.

  43. Note:  You may update any of the fields which are active.  To change your password or email address, you must click the respective button.

  45. Click the Continue > button to continue to the Optional Information screen.

  46. NoteWhen you select Others as the type, you have three choices:

     

    (1) to complete the Project Director Information,

    (2) to complete the Impact Aid User Information or

    (3) to leave both those sections blank and click Continue to register as an applicant.

     

    Also Note:  Fellowship project directors should leave the Project Director Information blank and proceed to register as an applicant.  This is due to the fact that a fellowship project director is considered a different user type than other project directors.

  47. Click the button to the right of the Are you a Project Director? field to display the answer choices.

  49. Enter the DUNS for your organization into the Grantee DUNS field.

     

    For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "999999995".
