In this topic, you will learn how to register in the G5 system as a payee.
Steps:
Click the Sign Up link to register as a new user.
Step 1The User Registration screen displays.
Click in the ED Employee/ED Contractor field to display the employee/contractor options.
Step 2Select No to indicate you are not a U.S. Department of Education employee or contractor.
Step 3Enter the information in the First Name field.
In this example, enter "Tim".
Step 4Enter the information in the Last Name field.
In this example, enter "Applicant".
Step 5Enter the information in the Email Address field.
In this example, enter "tim.applicant@gmail.com".
Step 6Repeat your email address in the Confirm Email Address field. This step has been completed for you in this example.
Step 7Enter your address in the required fields which are identified by a red asterisk (*).
These fields have completed for you in this example.
Step 8Click the Continue button to continue to the user registration agreement.
Step 9Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and read the user agreement.
Step 10After reviewing the agreement, select the Agree option to agree to the user agreement.
Note: If you do not agree, then you may not complete the registration process.
Step 11Click the Submit button to submit your account request.
Step 12The system displays a message indicating that the system will send a notification to your email address.
Step 13An email titled "[G5.gov] Account Request" will be sent to you.
Click the Activate My Account button.
Step 14Clicking the link takes you to the Account Activation screen.
Click the Agree option to agree to the activation terms.
Step 15Click the Submit button to submit your activation.
Step 16Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and review the rules for the user ID and password.
Step 17Click the Continue > button to complete the password, security question and security answer.
Step 18Enter a phone number into one of the available fields.
In this example, enter "2025555555" in the Work Number field.
Step 19Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.
Step 20Enter the password you are creating into the Password field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "Education_123".
Step 21For this example, the password has been re-entered in the Verify Password field.
Step 22Click the button to the right of the Security Question field to display the security question options.
Step 23Select the What was your favorite place to visit as a child? list item.
Step 24Enter the information into the Security Answer field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "Park".
Step 25For this example, the security questions and answers have been completed.
Step 26Click the Continue > button to continue to the summary information.
Step 27Click the Activate button to activate your account and save your password and security information.
Step 28The system displays a message indicating that the account has been activated and that you will need to log into G5 to select your role for access. You will also receive a confirmation email.
Click the Go to Home button to open the G5 homepage.
Step 29Enter the email address you used to register in G5 into the Email ID field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "tim.applicant@gmail.com".
Step 30Enter the password you set up into the Password field.
For this example, enter a valid value e.g. "Education_123".
Step 31Click the Login to G5 button to log into the system.
Step 32The Edit Profile screen displays with the information you entered when you set up your account.
Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down and verify the information.
Step 33Note: You may update any of the fields which are active. To change your password, you can click the Change Password button.
Step 34Select the Payee list item.
Step 35Click the Continue > button to continue to the Additional Information screen.
Step 36Enter the payee's UEI in the Payee UEI field.
In this example, enter "CCC333DDD464".
Step 37Click in the Access Level field to display the list of Access Levels.
Step 38Select the appropriate Access Level from the list.
View Only allows users to view available balances and the history of financial transactions associated with the provided Payee UEI.
Full Access allows users to perform financial transactions for the grant awards associated with the provided Payee UEI including the creation of payment requests, refunds, and adjustments.
In this example, select the Full Access list item.
Step 39Enter the information into the Date of Birth field.
In this example, enter "01/01/1980".
Step 40Click the Continue > button to continue to the Edit Profile summary screen.
Step 41Click the Vertical scrollbar to scroll down.
Step 42Click the Submit button to submit and complete your access.
Step 43Enter your senior official's email address in the Senior Official Email Address in the field.
In this example, enter "jpitt@utraining.edu".
Step 44Click the checkbox to acknowledge that you and your senior official will verify your signatures with ID.me and sign the form using Adobe Sign.
Step 45Click the Send Adobe Form button to submit the form request.
Step 46A message will appear confirming that the link to the Adobe Form has been sent to your email address.
Step 47You will receive an email titled "Signature requested on "G5 Payee Access Form"."
Click the Review and sign button in that email.
Step 48Click the Verify Identity button to open ID.me.
Step 49ID.me will open in a new window.
To proceed, both you and your senior officer must have verified accounts in ID.me. For guidance on creating an ID.me account, please visit Creating Your ID.me Account.
Step 50Enter your email address and password for your ID.me account then click the Sign In button.
Step 51Enter the code provided by your multi-factor authentication option.
In this example, enter "326329" in the 6-digit code field.
Step 52Click the Continue button.
Step 53The G5 Payee Access Request Form will appear in Adobe Sign.
Click the Continue button to begin the signature process.
Step 54Click the Start button to begin editing fields.
Required fields are identified by a red asterisk(*).
Step 55Enter your phone number in the Telephone # field.
In this example, enter "2025555555".
Step 56Click in the Payee User Signature field to add your signature.
Step 57Your signature will in a popup window.
Click the Apply button to add your signature to the form.
Step 58Your signature now appears on the form.
Click the Click to Sign button to submit your signed form.
Step 59You will receive a confirmation that you have finished signing the form. The form will next be sent to your senior official for their signature.
After your senior official signs the form, it will be sent to the G5 team for processing. You will receive a resolution email after your account has been updated.
